Bentley Batur Convertible: World Premiere in Dubai

A Masterpiece of Design and Exclusivity

Against the stunning backdrop of Bab Al Shams, Dubai, Bentley publicly unveiled its latest pinnacle of luxury and design, the Batur Convertible. This automobile, crafted by Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke division, marks the third “coachbuilt” model of the British marque’s modern era, succeeding the elegant Bacalar barchetta and the imposing Batur coupé.

Limited to just 16 individually numbered units, the Batur Convertible establishes itself as a true collector's item. Each example will be equipped with the most potent version of Bentley’s iconic W12 engine, a hand-assembled 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged unit.

Production of this legendary engine will cease this summer, making each Batur Convertible one of the last Bentleys to house this historic powertrain. Beyond its engine, the Batur Convertible offers an unlimited level of personalisation, where every detail is carefully adapted to reflect the vision and individuality of its owner.

The Batur Convertible model, currently on display in Dubai, is an eloquent demonstration of the art conceived by the Mulliner Bespoke Studio. Its Midnight Emerald exterior paint and High Gloss Carbon Fibre finishes reveal a symphony of dynamic colour transitions and high-performance materials.

At the front, the imposing grille stands out with a Satin Dark Titanium finish throughout, with the exception of the grille matrix, where a Gloss Mandarin to Gloss Beluga fade creates a captivating visual transition.

At the heart of this audacious exterior resides the distinct Batur Racing Stripe, finished in Gloss Porpoise and flanked by Gloss Mandarin outer stripes, both harmoniously matched with the interior leather, establishing a perfect visual connection between the exterior and the cabin.

The interior echoes the sophistication of the exterior, with Cumbrian Green and Porpoise leather accented by Mandarin stitching and piping, complemented by the machined titanium “Organ Stops” and “Bullseye” vent controls. The veneer features Mulliner’s exquisite “guitar fade”, where a transition of colour and texture spans the width of the cabin, from Gloss Beluga to High Gloss Carbon Fibre, returning to Gloss Beluga, and finished with the unique sound signature of this W12 engine laser-etched into it.

The Mulliner Bespoke Studio will co-create each Batur Convertible in direct collaboration with each client, utilising exclusive in-house commissioning software. Adopting a unique “off the menu” approach to personalisation, any part of the automobile can be adapted in terms of colour and surface finish, bringing each individual vision to life.

In the cabin, the highly exclusive option of 3D-printed rose gold includes key driver touchpoints, such as the Bentley Drive Mode Selector, which encircles the start/stop button and is used to change the chassis modes. As the centrepiece of a refined interior, the dial complements the design of the front grille. Rose gold can also be applied to Bentley’s iconic “Organ Stop” vent controls on the dashboard, as well as on the steering wheel itself.

Bentley Mulliner collaborated with specialist goldsmiths based in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, England, where jewellery has been produced for centuries, to create these unique pieces. This special collaboration highlights Bentley’s ability to combine new, advanced manufacturing technologies with more traditional materials and finishing techniques.

For the W12 engine that the Batur Convertible shares with its coupé version, a revised intake system, upgraded turbochargers, new intercoolers, and extensive recalibration allow it to achieve 750 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque.

This engine development celebrates its achievements over 20 years, during which it has been refined to produce almost 40% more power, while also improving fuel economy by 25%.
